Mobile Art Therapy and counselling service for individuals, families and groups
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses creative processes to facilitate healing and self-expression. It allows clients to explore their thoughts and emotions through various mediums such as clay, paint, collage, pastels, sculpture, and play. This therapeutic approach provides a safe space for individuals to express themselves non-verbally, helping to unlock emotions and insights that may be difficult to articulate with words.
You don’t need to be good at art to benefit from art therapy. It’s about expressing yourself through creativity. Art making serves as a tool for expression, often using metaphors to reflect how the client is feeling. For example, a client might draw with a black pastel, applying heavy pressure and bold strokes to convey feelings of anger or frustration. The process of creating art can also help regulate emotions and may become a valuable tool for managing feelings throughout life
Jem adopts a client-centered approach, working collaboratively with individuals and groups to identify their unique goals and create personalised session plans.
